Roan is an award-winning actress with over 20 years of experience in the industry. She has developed a diverse and critically acclaimed body of work that spans film, television, and commercials—most notably, her role as Kate Mularkey on Netflix’s hit show Firefly Lane. The daughter of a former professional dancer-turned movement instructor and a boutique clothing store owner, Roan was raised in a close-knit community of Canadian artists. As a result, her life has always seemed to center around the creative. After spending most of her life in film and television, Roan decided to pursue a degree in communications at Simon Fraser University to learn more about the social significance of the industry she had spent most of her life in. During this time, she realized that she had a desire to get behind the scenes and was brought on to associate produce the debut feature of multiple award-winning writer and director, Anthony Shim. Roan’s many years as a working actor, her extensive training, and her experience behind the scenes position her uniquely to help you be the best actor you can be! Her passion for sharing her knowledge of the industry and the craft of acting stems from all the wonderful mentors and teachers she has had the privilege of working with over the course of her career, including Kate Twa, Andrew McIlroy, John Cassini, Deb Podowski, and many others. Having grown up in the industry, Roan understands what it means to hone your skills at a young age, as well as the care and consideration required when working with young actors and helping them become well-rounded industry professionals.
